A documentary about the plight of the Magdalene women inspired director Peter Mullan to the film the same time he wanted to channel his anger in the face of the prevailing injustice and make public

The Magdalene homes -.. named after the biblical figure of the former prostitute Mary Magdalene, Jesus forgave her sins - in the 19th century in Ireland as a refuge for fallen women founded in grace. Beginning of the 20th Century took over the Catholic Church these facilities and introduced strict rules. The supervisor was under the Sisters of Charity (Sisters of Mercy), which forced the young women up to ten hours of unpaid work daily. The usually sacred Sunday was no exception. Hunger, beatings and sexual abuse led to numerous outbreaks and in the 50s and 60s also resulted in riots. Some of the ten Irish establishments were closed in the 70s, the last until 1996.

Human error

In his film, "Human error" is the renowned author and director Michael Verhoeven out show based on the actual stories of those affected the process of exclusion, disenfranchisement, dispossession, and finally deportation of Jewish citizens.

The end of the Holocaust, the brutal extermination of millions of human lives is - at least in its most important figures - known. Much less documented and still less to imagine the beginnings of the crime in the midst of a "normal" society.

In his film, "Human error" is the renowned, award-winning writer and director Michael Verhoeven fact, according to the specific stories of those affected the process of exclusion, disenfranchisement, dispossession, and finally show deportation of Jewish citizens.
